Jacob Underwood was born and raised in the mountains of WNC. He has always had a passion for small businesses and his community. Growing up surrounded by small businesses within his family and friends, he found his entrepreneurial spirit and passion. After graduating from Western Carolina University with dual degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, Jacob worked for an established software and payments technology company where he quickly learned the ins and outs of the payments world and financial technology. In July of 2022, he founded Modern Merchant Solutions with a vision to help small businesses navigate the ever-changing world of payments and technology by delivering the tools they need to take their business into the modern age of commerce. All while doing so at the local level and building personal relationships with his clients.
